There are ( shock absorbers ) on a 1997 Ford Aerostar ( front and rear )
The 1997 Land Rover Discovery shock and Sobers are held in place with a retaining bolt on each end of the shock. Remove the retaining bolts and the shock will come off. Reverse the process to install the new shock absorbers.
6.5" in the front, and 6X9" in the rear. Well, that's what my car had anyway... FYI There are inconsistencies in different manufacturers.
The rear shock spring will need to be compressed with a spring compressor. When the spring is compressed the top nut can easily be removed.
Jack up the rear of the car, unless you can put it on a lift, remove shock mount bolts, remove shock, and replace
It's under the car on the left side, look underneath the car below left rear passenger door. You will find !
To change the rear shocks on a 1999 Toyota 4Runner the rear of the vehicle must be lifted with the wheels removed. Find the shock mounts and remove those nuts as well as the lower fork hardware. Each shock will slide out in whole assemblies.
