870 stand for the 850 en V70classic series. There isn't a Volvo 870 as such. Volvo enthousiasts just use the number 870 when they are referring to a Volvo 850 '92-'97 or a V70(classic) first generation made until 2000.
95-97 are very interchangeable. Pretty much all body parts should be. Engine parts depend on which models your are changing between. Your question is too broad, try narrowing it down. What parts did you have in mind?
Depending on the year, for 1996/97 there are fuses at #4 and #8 that control the immobizer

Disconnect the battery. unhook the wires from the starter, then unbolt the unit. Drop the starter and bolt the new one in. Reconnect the wiring and battery.
