I wouldn't do it They do make a conversion kit but it is extremely inadequate and doesn't hold up anywhere as well as air ride.I am currently in the process of converting one of my Marks back to air ride after the previous owner put the spring kit on it it is just terrible. The air ride system is not all that difficult to repair and doesn't have to be costly either if you know where to look for the best prices on parts and fiding someone knowledgable enough to repair it without too much difficulty.
I have 3 Lincoln Mark7s and have used a Strutmasters kit on all 3 and am totally satisfied.
If you enjoy the lousy noisy ride and lowering the value of your cars glad your happy with all that I myself believe in preserving these wonderful cars not devalueing them or taking away from they're unique character that makes them stand out from other cars. I guess it's just a difference between someone who truly appreciates these cars and someone who just owns them.
You have to replace with springs and shocks
None but some people use the T-Bird springs and shocks.
Below is a link to the instructions for that installation.
there is a kit available. the last place i saw it was in a jc Whitney catalog. mark 8 is a beautiful car but problems with the air ride stink I have a 93 Lincoln Mark8 and it has thunderbird shocks on it.
where is the starter relay located on a 1990 Lincoln mark 7
yes they will work
Probably one or both of the front air shocks or the compressor.
Front or rear?
if i was to fix suspension by adding shocks, i would use air shocks to compensate for the air ride
i have 1996 with v8 on my mark
Mark 8 97-98 Does not have Front shocks unless it has been altered from OEM,if this is the case Strut Masters carries the Strict, OE on this car is Air Bags
And what about it do you need one ? selling one ? Fixing one?
