lift arm up fold wiper and push. it should pop right out as one unit. the wiperblade cannot come off.it is one unit blade/arm.

Edit: Actually, there is a cap over the wiper arm bolt that pops off. This lets you pull the wiper arm almost 90 degrees making it very easy to pop the replaceable assembly off.

Be sure you get the right replacement wiper blade. The Toyota Highlander has a special 12" rear wiper blade that fits the special rear arm. You can go to your dealer (which may be expensive) or you can look into 'Trico Exact Fit Rear Integral Blades' that snap right onto the special arm and look just like the factory original. See related links below.Note that just because its a special arm, does not mean its hard to change.

The 2008 Toyota Highlander has the most common hook-end wiper arms. See sources and related links below for installation videos. Also, purchase the replacement blades first and there will be additional instructions/illustrations on the replacement packages. Locate and press the tab or button where the wiper blade is inserted into the hook of the wiper arm and pull wiper blade out of hook. You may have to rotate and flex the blade to make enough clearance for the hook to pass through.

The 2001-2007 Toyota Highlander wiper blade sizes are 22" drivers side, 19" passenger side and a fairly specialized 12" rear wiper that is difficult to find in the stores. See sources and related links below for more information. Since there are currently over 22 different wiper arm attachments, do not buy wipers just by length only - be sure to lookup exact wiper blade part numbers by vehicle make, model and year for the brand wiper you decide to purchase. This ensures correct length AND correct attachment.
