Feel your way up the brake pedal. You will feel the switch where it rests against the pedal lever. Feel your way back along the switch and you will feel the bracket which hold it in position. Hold the switch at the back of the bracket (the other side from the brake pedal) and unscrew it in an anticlockwise direction. Pull the switch out from the bracket and then unclip the electrics. Dead simple. Refitting is the reverse. You can do this all by feel, so you don't need to be a contortionist!

To top off the brake fluid on the Renault Kangaroo diesel, you will need to open the brake fluid reservoir. This is located on the passenger side of the motor nearest the firewall. Open the reservoir and add fluid.
Lift the car, remove the tire and set aside, remove the brake shoe/caliper and remove the old brake pad. Put in the new brake pad, replace the brake shoe/caliper, put the tire back on the car and lower the car to the ground.
The probable cause of the brake lights not working on your Renault is the brake light switch. The brake light switch can be found under the dashboard by the foot pedal.
