The estimated cost to replace a clutch and radiator, in a 1989 Nissan pickup truck is $1100. A private mechanic may be able to do the job for less.
If you clutch is working fine then try to change the gear fluid in the transmission. My Isuzu shifted hard to and the fluid changed helped alot
on a 1989 Isuzu pickup with a 2.6 same engine 12 degree b.t.d.c. at 900 rpm
Take the trans out, the clutch is inside the trans ^_^
on a 1989 Isuzu pickup you need to take out the left speakerto get to the signal and hazard light flasher ..The control box for the flashers and turn indicators is all contained within the steering column. Not the easiest to get to.
Take out the transmission

Bad lockup clutch in the torque converter possibly.
Starter is on the left hand side (if standing in front of car) under the carburettor next to the engine block bolted on the gearbox
Perhaps slave cylinder, line or fitting leaking?
There is NO adjustment, You must replace the clutch set to bring the pedal back to the right position. You also need to make sure the clutch slave cylinder/ master cylinder is good before replacing clutch assy.
