1st: Remove hub caps and loosen the lug nuts on both the driver and passenger front rims. Then chalk the back tires securely.

2nd: Open hood. Disconnect the battery cables. Remove air intake/mass air flow assembly, and air box assembly. Remove the battery as well as the tray. ( this will free up A LOT of working space you will need). Use a quick disconnect tool to remove the transmission lines. ( you should already have a pan in place to catch trans fluid.) Remove the bolt holding down the plastic wire harness located directly on top of the transmission where the trans connects to the block. ( its only one nut) disconnect every wire connection point you see on top of the transmission and can reach from the top down. Remove the shift linkage as well as the the linkage support bolted to the side of the trans. Remove the nut that attaches the transmission to the mount that connects it all to the sub frame ( once you have removed the battery tray, and air cleaner assembly look straight down you will see it plane as day right in front of the strut on the sub frame).

On the drivers side you can leave it in place since the engine will not be removed.

Disconnect and remove the neutral safety switch from the transmission to keep it from being broken or cracked during removal and installation. Remove the VSS sensor. Follow the spedometer cable and it will lead you right to it.

3rd: Place the car on jack stands with the sub frame being at least 2 or more feet above the ground. BE SURE to place them on under the uni-frame and not the sub frame since the sub frame will have to be completely removed to remove the transmission.

4th: Remove wheels, remove upper and lower control arms bolts, tie rod bolts, and remove the nuts from the strut towers so that the strut will drop enabling you to swing it to and fro' when you pop the half shafts out. Do not remove the wheel hub nuts connecting the half shafts to the hubs. They can be left in place with the shafts hanging on both sides. Us e alarge pry bar to pop the CV joints out of the transmission using quick and strong jerks. Disconnect the two bolts that connect the rack and pinion to the sub frame. Disconnect both eaxausht manifolds where they connect to the Y pipe and remove the Y pipe from the manifolds to the flex pipe.

5th: install your engine support beam stretching from fender wel to fender well attaching the support chains to the ENGINE ONLY. If you have stock supports holds use those if not then simply remove a couple intake bolts and run them through a link in the chains. Twist the knobs on the levelers down so that the chains are a little taunt. remove the bolst connecting the engine mounts on the rear of the tranmission, and I believe the front of the transmission as well.

6th: remove the singel nuts on all 4 corners of the sub frame connecting the sub frame to the uni body. Then place a FLOOR JACK under the transmission and jack it up enough to be barely touching the transmission. Remove the bolts connecting the bell housing to the trans mission starting from the BOTTOM up. This way the top bolts will hold it evenly until your ready to remove the transmission. When you go to separate the block and transmission you will notice 2 dowel pins on either side of the block that guide the trns mission in place when mating the two together. if these come out in or with the transmission remove them and place them back in the block.

When you are fully ready to drop out the trans mission you will have to adjust the knobs on the levelers that are located on you engine support bar to angle the transmission downward a tad.

Instellation is the same way you removed it only in reverse steps.
