You don't! While you can change the pump yourself, it will not work afterwards due to the fact that the module in the pump needs to have a pmi performed (programmable module installation) and this can only be done using the Mazda or Ford IDS ( factory scan tool). However, you can install it and then tow it to a dealership and ask to have the as built data entered for the module. You can expect to pay $100 to $200 for this procedure. Typical pump replacement would run between $200 and $300, and usually includes programming.
