1. remove the tire 2. there are 2 bolts that bolt the caliper to the flange (remove them) 3. slide the caliper up/off the rotor 4. pull out old pads 5. compress the pistons down with a C clamp (clean the slides and apply neverseize on the caliper) 6. install new pads 7. remove rotor, if it's stuck, tap it with a hammer it'll just pull off 8. replace with new rotor 9. slide caliper on and tighten 2 caliper bolts 10. put tire back on and tighten the lug nuts 11. pump the brake pedal after you do this so that the pads contact the rotor... (the first couple of times, it'll be really soft, then it'll firm up... go for a low speed testdrive just to make sure everything is ok!!

Its got disc brakes in the front, therefor brake pads and its got drum brakes in the back, therefor brake shoes
The front brakes are disc brakes and are self adjusting. The rears are drum brakes and are also self adjusting providing the self adjusting mechanism is in working order.
A front popping on the left of a 98 Blazer could be the brakes, steering, or wheel bearing. Check all three to find the cause.
