The front struts (what was refurred to as shock) is removed from under the hood, remove the small bolts around the top of the inner fender and not the large nut in the center you will also need to remove the bolt at the base of thr shock then once you have it removed you need a spring compressor to remove the shock in the spring.NOT SOMETHING YOU SHOULD BE DOING bring it in and get it done right without anyone getting hurt.
you cant change the front shocks on the trailblazer without a spring compressor because on a trailblazer they all have struts and they have to be compressed down
A 2006 trailblazer has 2 struts in the front and 2 shocks in the rear
Struts on the front, shocks on the rear.
Rear shocks are easy however the front shocks require spring compression devices that must be used properly or you could get seriously injured or killed. The Heavy duty Bilstein shocks are very popular with the people at our enthusiasts forum. www.trailvoy.com
how to change front shocks in 01 Chevy s10
You should get a factory service manual to familiarize yourself with the procedure. The rear shocks are fairly easy to change for anyone with general mechanical aptitude and the proper tools. The front shocks should be changed by a good front end shop that has a spring compressor.
No, the front suspension uses struts. They are like shocks except for that the spring actually sits on it, not separate like the rear suspension.
The rear are shocks the front has struts. Rears shocks are a snap to change. Front struts should only be changed if you have the proper tools and knowledge as it can be dangerous.
You cant
no
It will be easier if you pull off the front tires then you have the shock bolts at your reach. It took me 30 min for both front shocks.
no,not truck shocks, but you can use spring helpers or you can order a lift kit for the front and for the rear you can get air shocks from your local parts supplier.
