The fuel filter is located on the passenger side of the engine, there is a water sensor located on the filter, so first u must disconnect the connector to the water sensor. Next you will need a large filter wrench to wrap around the filter and unscrew it. Remove the water sensor from the old filter and put it on the new filter (it unscrews). Dont forget to put the new gaskets you get with the filter on the new filter. Next install the filter back on the motor, and reconnect the water sensor connector. Before you can start the engine you will find a button on top of the filter that you must slowly press and release about 30 times to build fuel pressure. Try starting the truck after that, if the truck still wont start keep going back and pressing and releasing that pressure button. Make sure there are no leaks and you are all set.

How to change an air filter in a 2001 Grand Prix.
Duramax diesel has been an option in Chevy and GM vans, pick-ups, and medium duty trucks since 2001. If you plan on buying used, be aware that not all trucks will have the duramax diesel, but your local dealership should be able to get one for you.
