It's fairly easy, presuming that yours is like mine and has the switch as part of the
turn signal stalk. You have to remove the shroud around the steering column (two Torx screws, set in pretty deep) to get at the switch. Then it's a matter of unplugging 2 (I think) electrical connectors and removing 2 or 3 screws to get the old switch stalk off. Installation is the reverse.
I suggest that you pick up a Haynes or Chilton manual and follow their directions. They
will tell you how to disable the airbag while you're doing the job.
To change the reverse lights on a Pontiac Sunfire you need to locate it on the left side of the transaxle. Then, unplug the electric connector and remove the switch along with the socket.
How is the ignition key switch replaced on the 2000 Pontiac Sunfire? And after replacing the switch would I have to have it Towed to the Pontiac Dealer in order to have the car key programed to the Computer?
Is your headlight switch and blinker switch the same? If so, this is called the combination switch. Sounds like it is bad and needs to be replaced. Not uncommon for these to break.
under the dash
The neutral safety switch is found under the clutch pedal on a Pontiac Sunfire. Crawl under the cars steering column to see and reach the unit.
Low beam bulb burnt out? Replace bulb. Bulbs OK? If the dimmer switch is also the turn signal/cruise/headlight on and off switch, you probably have to replace the entire switch.
is there a emergency switch that shuts the fuel pump down
What, exactly, is the problem?

Car has manual transmission.
The trunk light switch on a Pontiac Sun Fire is typically in the latch assembly. This is usually inside the trunk and under the carpet.
I have a 1998 Pontiac sunfire gt and it is on the side of the gear shifter (automatic) however, if it is standard then I am unsure.
