My guess is you have a 3.1 motor. I went through an ordeal to finally discover the water pump was leaking. It didn't happen all the time. Some telltale signs that helped me were evidence of somthing slinging off the belt and creating a line on the inside of the hood over the belt, and pitting on the water pump pulley. Another possiblity may be an intake manifold gasket.
