There is a idle screw that you simply tighten to increase the idle speed or unscrew to reduce the idle speed. look under the hood at the throttle linkage.push the gas and let off of it. when you let off look where it comes to a rest. you will see it comes to a rest against a screw. if you want to idle it down just turn it counter clock-wise. i believe it is star shaped. so a regular screw driver wont work. hope that helps. this should be quick and easy 2 min job

∙ 9y agoThere are several components on a Oldsmobile Tornado that work in unison to affect the idle. Bleeding the coolant of air bubbles, changing the air filer and cleaning the TPS will all change the idle speed.
