Ignition LockI found that on an 89 you would save time,and money to either take it to a shop and have it done or just go to a salvage yard and buy another steering column. Because once you get past the turn signal switch you have to get special tools to go any further and then that's probably not safe to do anyway because of the powerful springs they have in there.
