Ok, the screws are rubber or plastic and when you go to unscrew they just spin or strip. So get needle nose pliers and pull them straight out ! Replace the bulbs and use screws as plugs and plugs them back in. yea Knowing is half of the battle.
The light assy has to be removed and the bulbs removed from the back.

There are at least 3 bulbs in the 1999 Nissan Quest. You must open up the dash (instructions provided elsewhere on this site for that - it starts with the center panel....) to get to them. The likelihood that all went bad together is very remote.
To change the light bulb on a Nissan Micra first lift the hood of the car. Find the headlight housings the pull the light bulbs from the ballast. Replace the bulbs.
you need to remove the inside panel to get to these bulbs
you have to remove the inside hatchback gate cover to get to the bulbs. Take care because you need a special tool to remove the clips so the won't snap
Change brake light bulbs Just remove the rear license plate. You can change the backup lights and brake light easily.
They are located inside the trunk lid, underneath the felt lining. You need to unsnap and pull back the felt lining to access the bulbs for the license plate light.
From the outside of the car.. Just un-screw the two screws and change the bulb.
change your bulbs and see if that's it.
From inside the trunk,twist the socket counterclockwise to remove the socket...
To change the head light bulbs on a 05 Nissan 350z. You have to remove the front wheel and inner fender liner. You then should have enough room to reach in and access the bulbs. It is a pain in the ass, I took me a hour to change out a burnt out turn signal bulb.
