There is a pipe with a plug on it that comes out of the engine near the bottom. Typically it will come out past the frame of the mower. Just get a pan to drain the oil into and sit it directly under that pipe. Remove the plug and let the oil drain. Depending on the model of the engine there may be a filter also. It looks just like a filter for a car. If it has one remove it at this time also. Once the oil stops draining just replace the plug, install a new filter, if applicable, and fill the engine with the recommended oil. If it has a filter you will need to check the oil again after you run it for a couple minutes.

The best way to change the oil on a Craftsman Eager One lawn mower - 6.75 HP is to buy a Toro.
The Craftsman 6.0 Mower takes an oil that is at least 30 wt. A blended oil that is 10-30 is okay to use also.
What type of oil does a craftsman riding mower take
For a walk-behind, I simply turn it on the side and let it run out of the oil-fill tube. Then about a pint will fill it.
If its a push lawn mower. It has no oil release. The mower burns the oil. All you do is replace the oil when it gets low.
On my Craftsman Lawn Mower, I have to raise the lawn mower or tilt it on it's side, and underneath where the blade is, there is a large drain plug. Take it off and catch the oil. This is a great time to clean the underside of your lawn mower and either sharpen or replace your blade.....Nothing cuts better than a sharp blade!
yes
Most commonly 30W.
I have a Craftsman Lawn Mower and it does not have an oil filter on it. I believe most smaller air cooled four stroke engines do not have an oil filter just because they are light duty. This is why it is essential to change your oil at least every season because your only line of defense against pre-mature engine failure is fresh oil.
I just changed the oil and I couldn't find a filter on it.
