There is a drain plug in the middle of the bottom skid plate, take this out and drain the oil. The filter is on the very front of the motor and looks just like a car oil filter, I would change the filter every time its cheap insurance. After you drain it put the new filter on and the bottom plug back in and then refill the oil thru the dipstick hole. Mazda Miata filters are the same thing and readily available at any local parts store and much cheaper than kawi filters. (I've been using them for years with no problems) Good luck Bigz
