How do you change the passenger compartment air filter on a 2003 Saturn L-series?

When you open the hood, it is towards the rear of the engine bay located between the wipes. It has a vent look and can be "popped" open with a flat head screw driver. I recently changed mine on a 2000 Saturn L Series, and that's the only place I found. .

At 25,000km it could probably use a change and it is under the glove compartment on the passenger side, but takes a while to get at.. (30 mins for job).

luckly for you im a class a mechanic that works at a Saturn dealership,its not so easy in the driveway though,you are probably wonering were the cable go well if you remove the exhaust and the heat shield than you will see that it connects to another cable if you can get the exhaust off from the flanged area by the cat than you are laughing.by the way that's a real common problem with the lseries.

You will have to unbolt and remove the engine access cover inside the passenger compartment. Then you can easily get to the air cleaner.

its in the engine compartment on the passenger side about mid way its a little metal box with 2 wires bolted on the box is mounted to the passenger firewall with 3 7mm screws real easy to change

Most times the resistor is located on the side of the blower motor housing, located under the passenger side dashboard. On some cars,trucks, it is located on the passenger side on the firewall in the engine compartment.

You pull out the battery compartment, change the battery, then put the battery compartment back in. On some detectors this can be done without taking them down, on others you must take them down to get to the battery compartment.
