i just did it yeseterday on my mother's 1998 lumina (4 dr sedan car). I am assuming that it is the same. you will need a torx driver to remove the entire housing for the switch. once you have removed that from the door, it is pretty much common sense (plug/unplug and play). the only thing that i will tell you is to be cautious of dealerships as they want way too much for the part. you should be able to get it off of the internet or at a local parts store (ie, advance, auto zone) for right around $95. you can also cut your costs more by disassembling the switch and repairing it yourself, but if you want to do this respond for more instructions.
