You can remove the tire with the side bags on, although it might be easier with the shaft side off. When the bike is on the center stand, please make sure you put a block under the engine so as not to let the bike fall backwards while the tire is off. Believe me, it will take 4 people to get it back up. The rest is easy, just start to unbolt as you see it, just be careful with the shaft drive. It all comes off. Since you have tube tires, you remove the tire the same way you would do with a bicycle, plastic tools. Use a good quality tube. When locking up the nuts, torque to spec's.

What are the tire sizes for a 1981 gl1100 goldwing?

Front Tire 110/90-19 Rear Tire 130/90-17 **The Honda GL1000 Goldwing uses a 4.50x 17 rear tire stock, however, many people mount the 130/90-17 instead because they consider the stock tire too thin. There are no clearance problems mounting this larger tire in it's place.**This can probably be used on some other models that use an 17" rear wheel and have a stock tire width that is close to a 130 in width. You do not want to put to wide of a tire on your bike if it does not use this size as stock. Going too wide can cause the tire to rub against parts of the bike. Please consider carefully before bidding if you are not sure this will work for you.
