Just loosen the Power Steering pump. Pump swing on the bracket just loosen the bolts on the swing points and under the pump there is a adjustment boldto tighten on loosen the belt. Be sure you draw the belt diogram on paper because it can turn in a night mare
oh man, then you brake out the broom handle and tighten back up, like when you were a kid, and changed a rear tire on your bike... WRONG....
There is a tentioner pulley under the power steering pump, 10mm socket, goes on the top left side of tens pulley, loosen it, the use a 15mm wrench to loosen the bolt that holds said pulley on, draw belt pattern 1st....remove old belt, replace, and reverse the removal pattern... good luck.
4liter is in distributor.
There is a 15mm. bolt (long bolt) that adjusts the tension of the serpentine belt. It is in the area of the power steering pump, just left and down. Either draw a map, or look on the front of the engine compartment to see how the belt is routed around the pulleys.
can you give me instructions on changing the water pump on a 1998 jeep classic 4.0.
change them
You can change the serpentine belt by loosening the tensioner pulley. When the tensioner pulley is loose and the serpentine belt will become loose. Put the new serpentine belt on and tighten the tensioner pulley.
