I am not sure but I think this is the same motor as my 95. 3.0 V6. If it is; the thermostat is a very tough job. it is located at the top of the lower radiator hose, behind the timing belt cover. You might as well go ahead and change the t belt at the same time. I changed my water pump and decided to replace everything else at the same time; hoses, belts, thermostat; they all gotta' come off anyway......good luck......
Remove the water supply hose from your 1992 Chevy thermostat housing. Remove the thermostat housing retaining bolts. The thermostat can be lifted out. Reverse the process to install the new thermostat.
