* Disconnect negative battery cable * Set parking brake and block rear wheels * Loosen the lug nuts on the left front wheel and raise the front of the car.Support it securely on jackstands * Remove the front left wheel for easier access to the end of the crankshaft * Support the engine with a floor jack.Place a block of wood between the jack pad and the oil pan to avoid damage to the pan * Remove the left engine mount * Remove the spark plugs and drivebelts * Postion the number one piston at top dead center * Remove the tensioner seal and the upper timing belt cover note the gasket beneath the cover it does not need to be removed or replaced unless damaged * Remove the alternator and bracket * Unbolt the Power Steering pump without disconnecting the hoses and set it aside * On A/C cars detach thewiring and unbolt the A/C compressor setting it aside without disconnecting the refrigerant hoses * To keep the crankshaft pulley from turning have an assistant hold large screwdriver firmly against the ring gear teeth and loosen the pulley to crankshaft bolt with a socket and breaker bar.Slip the pulley of the crankshaft * Remove the water pump pulley * Remove the lower timing belt cover * Loosen the timing bel tensioner bolt remove the outer belt guide and slip the belt off
