Lots of fun. You have to drop the tranny pan from the bottom of the transmission. there is no plug. The crossmember will get in your way, so have lots of kitty litter around to clean up. It's a 3 hour job, start to finish, and you'll need a flex extension for your socket to get all the bolts, but you'll save $100 doing it yourself. You'll need 9 quarts of ATF+4 Transmission Fluid, a new tranny filter, and a new gasket (usually comes with the filter) Have fun!!
I am needing to change the transmission fluid on my 2001 Dodge Durango, and I don't know where the location of the plug to drain the transmission fluid is at!

It is not difficult to change the transmission filter on a Dodge Durango, but it is time consuming. There is a cover that needs to be taken off after loosening the bolts. The transmission fluid needs to be drained into a bucket. After the new filter is put in, the cover is put back on and new fluid is added.
