there is no drain plug you must remove the whole bottom cover.
it has to be pumped into the bottom of the transmission
go to a transmission shop. the filter is located in the trans fluid pan. its best to have fluid and filter chnged at the same time
the transmission is located on the driver's side of the engine and yes the engine has to be removed to change the transmission
60.000
The transmission is the same
My transmission change through the Ford dealership was about $2800.
transmission filter -replaismen
In an automatic Eclipse, the transmission filter is located inside of the transmission. To change the filter, the entire transmission must be disassembled to reach it.
I could be wrong, but I don't think you have one; if you do it would be near the trans pan. If your transmission is shifting poorly I would change the filter and fluid.
There is no drain plug in the automatic transmission pan , you have to drop the pan with transmission fluid in it , if you want to change the filter etc.
Starting with the 2002 Ford Explorer ( 4 door ) there isn't an automatic transmission fluid dipstick that allows you to refill the transmission . The Ford dealer has a way of checking the transmission fluid level from underneath the vehicle , I couldn't find anything in the 2002 Ford Explorer maintenance schedule so I would ask a Ford dealer . I know that on my 1995 Ford Explorer I've had the dealer use a machine a couple of times that pumps in new transmission fluid through the transmission cooler lines as the old fluid is pumped out
Its either in need of transmission fluid a fluid change or the bands are strechted
