the high level stop light is a bulb and not an LED. To remove the light to access the bulb you first need to remove the top interior tailgate trim. Once this is off you can then see the two holes to access the retainers for the lamp. These retainers are spring loaded to release them you need to push them towards the center of the lamp, there are four in total, the best tool to release them is a long thin flat bladed screwdriver which you can use as a lever to push the retainer in.
Once the lamp is out you can replace the blown bulb. The bulb is a large cap-less 21W bulb

Changing the brake light on a 2005 Ford 500 requires first exposing the light fixture. Locate the housing panel and uncover. Push and twist to remove the necessary light bulb socket for replacement.
