I have submitted an answer for this several times already so check out my past answers. Basically tho you will need to get a manual. There are steps that require you to place things in specific locations during the installation. The books will give you pictures and step by step directions. Its easy enough to be tackled on a weekend should you desire to. If after reading you have another specific question about the process write me back.

If timing belt breaks on 1997 Volvo 960 will it damage the engine?

Unless I'm mistaken , if a timing belt goes on ANY car it WILL damage the engine. If you whack the clutch in and stop immediately you may limit the damage. Timing belt change intervals vary. Halfords or eBay haines manual £13 new will tell you what the correct timing belt change intervals are. usually 30-60 K miles depending on make. I would never risk it... unless we're talking old banger. On a US market 960, you will have major damage if your timing belt breaks. The engine is what is called an interference engine. The scheduled replacement interval is 70k. If the last replacement is in question, replace the belt.

How to install timing belt on 2000 Toyota Camry?

Many people recommend to purchase a Toyota Repair mannual. I think it is around $15.00 USD. The belt cost around $30-$40 and it takes around 4-5 hours to get done. I think if you check out some specials from Toyota Dealer, they charge around $300 for a timing belt change.

Nissan frontier replacing timing belt cause issues with knock sensor Dealer changed timing belt now Service Engine Soon light on solid. Is this a coincidence?

this is non related. Service engine light is probably a call for new oxygen sensor, but change your timing belt every 60,000 miles and water pump at the same time ,since it only adds about 30 min to the job. You have a good truck and will go 300,000 plus.

Does the 1997 Infiniti 30 have timing belt?

the unique thing about this i30s they have a chain instead of a belt and the chain last much longer it should last the entire life of youre car as long as proper oil change is done its about 300000 miles i wouldn't go changing them as yet coz they are expensive to change

How expensive is it to change a timing belt?

The timing belt itself is under $50 on the Web. It can take a couple of hours to get the job done, as a lot of things need to be moved out of the way in the the tight engine compartment (even worse for turbocharged models). An independent shop might charge as little as $250, all in. DOuble that for the dealership. If this is your second timing belt change, get the belt tensioner and idler changed, too! Total parts are $250, installing them adds about 30 minutes. I would strongly recommend replacing the water pump as well - this is under the timing belt (that belt drives the water pump). If the water pump seizes, the belt will fail, the cams will unsync from the pistons, and the pistons will hit the valves, bending them... $4000 to fix. (Been there, done that - we junked the car, and 850). The $100 extra for a water pump changed maybe a little early is fabulous insurance.
