IT don't have a timing belt to change.
The 2002 VW Beetle is equipped with a timing belt, not a chain. It is recommended to replace the timing belt every 60,000 to 90,000 miles to prevent potential engine damage due to belt failure. Always consult the owner's manual or a trusted mechanic for specific maintenance schedules based on driving conditions. Regular maintenance helps ensure the longevity and performance of the vehicle.
there is no timing belt it has a timing chain
if you are talking about the beetle bug there is no timing belt. the cam is run off the crank gear to the cam gear.
Timing belt is not usually a job you do yourself unless you are somewhat mechanically inclined. A serpentine belt can be changed easily but the timing belt is internal and usually requires the waterpump to be changed as well. My advice is to find some videos on YouTube or a vw forum.
