Cost to change timing belt o 2006 beetle diesel
They don't have timing belts.
Timing belt is not usually a job you do yourself unless you are somewhat mechanically inclined. A serpentine belt can be changed easily but the timing belt is internal and usually requires the waterpump to be changed as well. My advice is to find some videos on YouTube or a vw forum.
There isn't a timing belt on this vehicle, it only has a serpentine belt for alternator, power steering, ect.
No the timing belt drives the camshaft. A serpentine belt drives accessories such as alternator, power steering and ac.
Timing chain. You do not need to change it, ever.
Serpentine belt, no. Timing belt, good chance yes.
You should only have to remove the serpinine belt to change the water pump. The timing belt is inside the plastic covers. The serpentine belt is visible to you.
No. The serpentine belt is outside of the engine and is easily seen. The timing belt is more internal and completely covered.
No , the serpentine belt is outside of the engine , at the front , and is used to " drive " the accesories . Also , it uses a timing CHAIN instead of a timing belt
I change my belt at approx 80,000 km or 50,000 miles, or when the belt as cracks orcuts. The above sounds like a serpentine belt...The Freestar/Monterey/Windstars do not have a timing belt - they are equipped with a timing chain which does not require routine replacement.
No. Only the cam belt effects timing.
