The water pump on a 2001 Hyundai Sonata is close to the radiator. It is under the bypass hose, radiator hose, and accessory drive belts.
How to change a water pump on a 94 hyundai scoupe?
it is under the timing cover and it is quite hard
you have to remove the belts and water pump pulley the water pump is located behind the timing cover.
I have a 2006 Hyundai tiburon. I have the same problem. Had the computer module changed but it continues to happen. The dealer says that water is getting in the motor and causing it to stop. That is not acceptable
Not a bad idea to replace both at the same time
If you are standing in front of your car looking at you engine it is located on the left side of the engine. Look at the serpentine belts and the water pump is the second spindle closest to you.
This is just a guess, based on soggy carpet in other model cars, but it might be condensation from the air conditioner.
If you have a V6 change the water pump when you change the cam belt at 105,000 miles. If you have a 4 cylinder then change it when it starts leaking.
Crankshaft position sensor is around $98.00 for dealer part...labor around $270.00...cost can increase substantially if timing belt is replaced ( since your in there ) belt tensioner, possible water pump...depending how many miles on engine and if you plan on keeping car...could hit $1000.00 plus
it is probably the thermostat any one can change one on a Hyundai they cost under $15.00
