Step #1 is to get the correct replacement wiper blades.The 2008 Ford Escape takes 20" replacement windshield wiper blades on both sides front and a special 12" rear wiper blade that fits the special rear arm. Note, when buying wipers be sure to always lookup your vehicle make, model and year in the application guide book at the store.
Regarding the special rear wiper: You can go to your dealer (which may be expensive) or you can look into 'Trico Exact Fit Rear Integral Blades' that snap right onto the special arm and look just like the factory original. They're available online. Note that just because its a special arm, does not mean its hard to change.
Step #2 get the blades and instructions in your hands and get in front of the vehicle. The installation process is simple. The replacement wiper blades will come with step-by-step, illustrated removal and installation instructions.

Basically pinch the tabs on both sides of the attachment and swing that side of the blade downwards out of the arm, then remove it from the tiny hook.
The 2008-2010 Honda Civic SEDAN takes 26" driver side and 22" passenger side and replacement wiper blades. The COUPEtakes 28" driver side and 25" passenger side replacement wiper blades.
The 2004-2008 Toyota Solara takes 24" driver side and 19" passenger side replacement windshield wiper blades.
The 1999-2008 Ford F-Series Pickup takes 20" replacement wiper blades on both sides front.
