First, if your battery is losing its oomph after a couple years, don't just recharge it, replace it. That said....... remove the driver seat/passenger pillion combo with an 8mm wrench and a (I believe) 6mm hex wrench (both included in your tool kit). Directly under there you'll find the battery, but it's covered by some other gizmo, I forget what it was but it's all fairly easy. Remove the 'gizmo' and disconnect the battery's negative lead FIRST then the positive lead and lift out the battery, replace it with the new one and as they say, reassembly is the reverse of disassembly. IF you just want to charge it, pull it out and connect it to a motorcycle battery charger, 2 amps charging current is good, let it go all night. Seriously, though, if your battery is a couple years old, for all the trouble you'll go through just replace it. You should also consider a battery tender. This is a small, 1 or 2 amp charger for motorcycle batteries. I includes a set of leads you permanently connect to the battery, the leads end in a small plastic plug that connects to a plug at the end of the wire from the battery tender. I use one for my 2004 Aero and 2005 Ural whenever either of them won't be used for a week or more. The plug sits behind the cover that hides that little lockbox with the tool kit and owner's manual. A weak battery WILL leave you stranded eventually. I have a kickstart on the Ural for backup, but no such luxury on Aero, soon as I suspect a weakening battery I consider it cheap insurance to replace it.
