Remove the seat and the battery is located under the CDI box (electronic ignition control, CDI meaning Capacitor Discharge Ignition). The battery is right below this unit which is easily removed. Remove the negative terminal first, then the positive. Getting the battery out is not as easy as it looks. Place your fingers tightly at each top end of the battery and try to lift it. Some people put a lanyard around the battery for fast and easy removal in the future. The lanyard should be thin and can be left in place.
Because you didn't charge the battery.
why dose the new battery and cables not seem to hold a charge in my 2004 saturn ion ?
Your 2004 Chevrolet trail blazer and battery light indicator is always on because the battery has sufficient charge.
I would suspect the battery has been discharged, is defective, or you have loose or corroded battery terminals. Remove and clean the terminals and if that does not solve the problem charge the battery with a battery charger. If it will not take a charge then replace the battery.
Find the battery first, look for the plus side it is the positive pole on the battery, You put the red or positive clamp from your charger on there. Then you put the negative which will be on the other side of the battery. Then you set your charger on 2 amp trickle charge, plug it in and let it charge.
As I know you will not need to charge a battery if your charging system is working right but if you leave your lights on or whatever just go to any auto zone and they will charge it for you in about a hour( i know that because i work there) but anyways also you can check your fluid level in the battery in any 350z.

yes but remember to connect the positive (red) to the positive on the battery, and the negative (black) to a good ground ,away from the battery. this will prevent a spark near the battery and a possible explosion.

Alternator is defective or the battery has a dead cell and will not take a charge. Check the voltage at the battery with the engine running. You should have between 13.5-16 volts. Anything less and your alternator is bad.
