It's a little awkward as it is partially obstructed by the windshield wiper trim piece.
Adding fluid - I usually use a small bathroom dixie cup if you fill it halfway it will fit under there
and you can pour it in

Look at the level in the brake fluid reservoir.
The brake fluid level may be low in the reservoir. If the reservoir is low it's telling you the brake pads are worn down. As the brake linings wear down the fluid level drops and eventually turns on the brake light. Have a mechanic check your brakes soon. See "Related Questions" below in case the brake light in question is/are the ones in the taillights. Not uncommon for Windstar brake lights to turn themselves on.
If a Ford Windstar only drives in neutral, it may be due to a blown fuse. It will be best to check the neutral safety switch or brake pedal switch.
If the red " BRAKE " light in your dash is on that indicates that either your parking brake / emergency brake is on , or the BRAKE FLUID LEVEL in your brake master cylinder ( located in the engine compartment ) IS LOW

In a 2002 Ford Explorer Sport : You check the brake fluid LEVEL in the brake fluid reservoir in the engine compartment . It is on the drivers side of the vehicle , near the firewall ( that's the metal wall that divides the engine compartment from the passenger compartment ) It is a plastic reservoir that allows you to check the brake fluid level just by looking ( you only need to remove the cap if the brake fluid level is not up to the full mark and you are going to add the DOT 3 brake fluid that is required
