First check the pressure of low and high side, for R22 they should be around 60 and 250 respectively.
Second
check the temperature of the compressor by touching it lightly from bottom to top. where you can feel the level of oil present in it
Third .(Cut the power supply before touching it)
if the compressor is not running at all,
check the electric continuity between terminals and body, if no connectivity is checked then check resistance between terminals of compressor
with the compressor running.
Check for a blown fuse. Also check the wiring connections at the compressor.
check starting capacitors. Check voltage supply with a voltmenter from outlet to compressor.
WHICH COMPRESSOR, AIR SUSPENSION OR A/C.........???
You will need to check the condenser for leaks, also check the air compressor, you can check the air compressor by turning on the ac, look and see if the front of the air compressor is turning. If the air compressor is not coming on you will need to replace it.You can also check your 134a level. hope this helps.
Mabe your compressor is not kicking on for some reason. Check to see if the front of your compressor starts spinning when you turn it on. If it don't check to see if there is power to the wires that go to your compressor. If there is power you have a bad compressor. If there is not check the fuses or relays.
There can be a couple of reasons due to which the AC compressor of your car might seize to work. First of all check the wires leading to compressor and the fuse switch. Next you have to check if the compressor holds enough gas for AC to work. Also, check for a leakage in steel pipes that circulate the air.
If the belt's good, check the compressor clutch.
If the compressor will not come on at all, it is not because the system needs charging. Check for a blown fuse, disconnected wire at the compressor, or a defective compressor clutch.
Usually you check mega-ohms by reading the resistance between compressor shell and the windings. There should be a large amount of resistance which means the windings are not shorted to the compressor case or shell. Use a DVM (digital volt ohm meter) to check the resistance.
How do you check that the compressor and governor are operating correctly?
Compressor problems but sounds the opposite of what the symptoms are usually. Repace compressor and check for leaks. Compressor problems but sounds the opposite of what the symptoms are usually. Repace compressor and check for leaks.
