Check your low voltage input to the coil with the key on. If there are no volts, then either your ECM isn't sending the signal or you don't have continuity through the wire. If there are volts, bad coil. There should be specs on what it should read but I'm not sure what they are
Icm is not an abbreviation for any part on a Jeep Cherokee that I am aware of.
I have an 88 wrangler and my ICM is on the inside of my driver's side fender, under the coolant overflow jug. You have to take the jug out to get to it. Though yours may be different, i know some things were changed on the YJ after "91, like FI. Home this helps someone

This code is set when the pcm gives 5v signal to ignition bypass and dose not get a return signal from icm, check wiring at pcm and icm possible icm fault, or crank sensor.
Remove distributor cap. remove rotor. remove icm shield. remove all wires from icm. remove two screws holding icm. pull icm strait out
What is ICM Non combustible
The 1992 Ford Ranger ICM is located on the firewall in the engine compartment. The ICM will be on the drivers side of the firewall.
have someone check the icm (idle control motor)
First check the fuses under the hood there is a 10a fuse for the computer. Pull them all and reinsert them to be sure there is good contact. Then check the fuses inside the car. If still no spark, have the ICM checked at a auto parts store. If the ICM is bad you can get one on eBay A LOT cheaper than anywhere else.

The CS in ICM-CS stands for Campaign Star.
Auto zone carries the ICM. I did my ICM & Coil together. Be sure the trigger/triggers are working (they rarely die). I tested mine using an LED and spinning the distributor by hand to get a pulse out of the LED. Adam Goldstein
