Whether or not a car will pass inspection with the Check Engine light on is up to the state or county giving the test. As long as the car passes an emissions test, it should be fine.
Check your gas cap. The check engine light may come on if the gas cap isn't on tight enough. As for whether a car can pass inspection in Maine this way, I do not know.
I am looking for a vin check up fro a car whether it was flooded or not flooded check up
engine lightyou should go and get it checked out somewere because that isn't good.
yes but it wont run so good and the "check engine" light will illuminate.
what is a good engine oil to use in my car
Yes you can. But you will want to check you're engine soon.
Rust, transmission problems, engine problems, A/C problems, & emissions problems. Make sure the Check Engine light is working and is not staying on after you start the engine. Check for structural damage to the car indicating it has been in a severe accident. Check for oil leaks. Two things you can do to make sure you get a good car is to check with Car-fax and the have the vehicle inspected by a trusted mechanic. This will be money well spent and up the odds of you getting a good car. If the seller refuses to allow you to have the car inspected by a mechanic of your choice walk away.
Take out one of the spark plugs. Check whether it sparks.
Down on what? Engine oil, check the dipstick. Coolant, check the reservoir.
It really depends on what the cause of the check engine light is.
The engine will not reach operating temperature and the check engine light will illuminate. I don't see it damaging the engine but it can't do the catalytic converter any good.
