There is a CEL, Check Engine Light, on the 1989 Thunderbird.
When i bought my thunderbird the key to the ignition didnt fit the door locks so i had to replace the locks. That might be the best answer. :]
The Ignition Control Module on a 1996 Ford Thunderbird 4.6 is located inside the EFI or Electronic Fuel Injector. The EFI is the carburetor. Look for a cord that has a connector that resembles an HD Cable.

Remove the retaining ring at the top of your 1986 Ford 350 ignition switch. Slide the ignition switch out and remove the wiring harness. Reverse the process to install the new ignition switch.

No, the latest ford thunderbird was produced in 2005. after that, they were discontinued :(
Should be in the fuse panel. The large round (usually metallic) one. Look it up on your fuse panel schematic to double check.
