To check a signal flasher in a car to see if it is good just turn the car on and turn the signals on. Have someone outside the car to check the front and back signals.
If all the bulbs and fuses are good and you still do not have turn signals, chances are very good that flasher is bad There are a few ways but I find either reverse up to a wall or a large window then turn the flasher on. you should see the light bounce off the wall or window.
the flasher relay is up behind the fuse pannel under dash on drivers left side it is a round flasher can good luck hard to see behind wires.
see your dealer about a recall for flasher
Next check the turn signal switch inside the steering column. check to see if the bulb is dead
call or check with the bank that the check is wrote on
HI, Have you checked the bulb and the fuse? Eithr one of those is the first place to check, and is the front/back working when the other is not? You need to check those first then check the flasher but turn on your emergency flasher and see if all your bulbs work. Happy Thanksgiving. Steve H.
Check the fuse box(es) for a burnt fuse. Also, check to see if the front indicators work - if not, the flasher unit probably needs to be replaced.
Before replacing the flasher relay, be sure to check fuse(s) and bulbs. In most cases, turn signals stop flashing because of a bad bulb so check that first. If it is a bulb, see sources and related links below.
look under steering column towards the firewall you will see a white box with a plug, reach on top of that and the flasher unit sits, unhook it then unplug it. good luck!
took me a while to find the flasher, it is jamed up, right behind the fuse block. you got to get a flash light in there to see it. before replacing, check your hazzards, if they are not working eigther, the flasher is probably not the problem. i checked the fuses, replaced the flasher, and still nothing. from my expiriance the steering colomn and its components are junk.
There are two flasher relays side by side. One is for the signal lights, the other is for the emergency flashers. They are the same relay so you can swap the two and see if the problem your having changes when you try to operate them.
There is a flasher fuse and a flasher relay. These are two different items. You can pull a flasher fuse out and inspect it. When it's blown you can see it that it is blown. That vehicle has two flasher relays. One is for the directional signals and the other is for the emergency 4-way flashers. They both use the same part number relay. Simply switch the two flasher relays to determine which one is bad.
