Best Answer

1 Check level of liquid in every cell. Must cover the plates. If not: rectify

2 Switch all the lights on. Must all be bright. If not system volts could be low.

3 Switch everything off. Start engine. Starter must turn engine fast. If not see 2

4 Switch all lights on, start engine. Lights must stay (close to) bright while starter is turning the engine. If not see 2

5 Ask a friend to help with multimeter set to 30 volts DC, Red + lead in V socket and Black - lead in com socket.

With all lights switched off:

Touch Red lead to the battery + pole and Black lead to the negative - pole (ground strap or cable)

Switch multimeter on. Digital display must show 12 or more Volts. If not see 2

Start engine. During starter turning engine, not less than 10 Volts. If not, see 2

With engine running, 13.8 Volts. If higher, overcharging, if less, see 2

Switch all lights on. 13.8 Volts or close, if not see 2.

Cold battery suffers from reduced capacity.

Enjoy the festive season. Buks de Vry

Voltage is how much power the batteries have. I think....

If you have four batteries in series what is the output voltage?

depends on the voltage of the batteries.. four 12 volt car batteries would output 4x12 = 48 v

How many car batteries do you need to power your 100 amp home?

You cannot power a home with car batteries. Batteries are DC voltage. Your home operates on AC voltage. You could use a converter but the number of batteries required to operate an average home would be enormous.

What is the voltage of most car batteries?

12.6 volts when fully charged.

Ibought a used golf cart the batteries were all dry i filled them but the battery charger would not charge the batteries it is a 2002 club car?

the collective voltage of this cart is 48 volts . fully charged it will be anything up to 51 or 52 volts . If the voltage of your batteries is less than say 41 volts because they are very very low then your charger will not kick on. You will have to charge the batteries one at a time using a car battery charger. The golf cart charger you have will only turn on and charge when the batteries are above a certain voltage . You are obviously below that. Or you batteries are simply no good at all because they were dry for to long . Go to your local batteries plus store and have them check them for free.

Can you replace two CR2016 batteries in a car key with one CR2032?

No. You would only have half the voltage required as they are the same voltage.

What is a short to voltage?

what is short to voltage in a car electrical circuit & how to check it ?

Can you describe how batteries are sources of voltage?

The number of cells in a battery determine the battery's voltage. Different types of batteries have different cell voltages. The cell voltage is dependant on the reactive metals used. A typical car battery will have six cells. Because a typical cell voltage has a source voltage of approximately 2.0 volts, this makes a car battery produce a voltage of 12 volts.

Why can car batteries run on low voltage?

Because the alternator will keep your car running as long as its running Type your answer here...

What voltage should car batteries be charged with?

Between 12V-14.2V is recommended, however standard charging units will optimize their charge to your batteries needs.

How do car batteries provide voltage?

How Automotive Batteries Create Electrical CurrentAutomotive batteries create electrical current by converting chemical energy stored in the plates and the electrolyte [the Sulphuric Acid in auto batteries] to electrical energy.

Should you set your car battery recharger to 6 volt or twelve volt?

The charger needs to be set to charge for the voltage that the battery is designed to produce. Most car batteries are 12 volt batteries.
