How do you check to see if one of your questions has been answered on WikiAnswers?

The easiest way to know when one of your questions has been answered is to click on the email icon under "Answer It" after asking the question. You'll need to go to "My Settings" under "My Pages" in the blue side bar and scroll down to "Email Updates."
For individual questions, check "Real-time notifications about updated answers to questions I'm following." You will receive an email when the question is answered and whenever the answer is changed after that.
Just a note: If you are watching a lot of questions, this can result in a lot of emails. You can stop the emails by unchecking the box in "My Settings."
Another way to check for answers is to bookmark the question page to your browser's toolbar.

WikiAnswers does alert you when a question you asked has been answered. At the home page and on question pages, the bell used for notifications at the top-right of the page will have a red notification box to let you know about questions you've asked that have been answered.
If WikiAnswers doesn't know the answer why do you have the question posted?
Because you can't answer a question that has never been asked. Ideally, there there should only be two kinds of questions on WikiAnswers - those that have been answered, and those that will be answered. When a contributor comes across a question that hasn't been answered, and they know (or think they know) the answer, they will put it in. That is how the collection of questions and answers grows.
