There will be two plugs in the side if the transmission. I think they are on the passenger side. The one higher up is the one you take out. It's a plug with a square indention. Put a 3/8 ratchet into it and remove it. It's full when the truck is flat and level and the fluid is just getting ready to come out that hole. You can use your pinky to check the level because you can't see in there.
