When citing an email in APA format, include the sender's name, date of the email, subject line in italics, "Email message" in square brackets, and the retrieval information if it was not a personal communication. In MLA format, include the sender's name, email subject line in quotation marks, recipient name if known, email date, "Email" in the title of container 1, and the publication date in container 2.
