you could but high pressured water would work better
Goo Gone works well for that.
A strong chemical cleaner will be needed to remove tar from the driveway. Muratic acid, or something similar should soften the tar. use all safety precautions.
the best way to get paint off your driveway would be mineral turpentine.
Spray on a solution made of a gallon or so of water, a little bit of Clorox (half a cup??) and 2-3 teaspoons of Trisodium Phosphate. TSP is available at paint supply stores or in the painting department at a superstore). TSP is the main ingredient in Spic & Span, without all the additives. Then, wash off with a pressure washer. Be careful to make sure the bricks and mortar are not damaged. Some people clean brick with a muriatic acid solution, but that is more dangerous, to you and to the driveway!
If its just affecting the surface then scrub with a wire brush, it the dye has soaked into the concrete then nothing will 'clean' it, you either replace the concrete, paint over it or accept you have a new feature on your driveway.
The ability to clean off driveway grease has effectively nothing to do with the "hotness" of a hot sauce, and I wouldn't expect any hot sauce to do a particularly good job of it, certainly not better than, say, turpentine. So, while you may have heard it, the person you heard it from has no idea what they're talking about.
I'm thinking waterhose.
It would help to know what your driveway is made of (blacktop, brick, concrete, etc.) The best thing you could use would be "Lime Away" they sell it any big box store or even Walmart & Target may carry it. It is safe on brick & concrete, pour a little bit directly onto the stain & rub with a wire brush, just hose away! Of course if your driveway is black top just get a can of black spray paint, or seal coat it.
hairdryer usually smoke when you don't clean the lint off the vent of the motor.
