I think this problem was solved and also documented really well with a procedure and photos at the website:

http://65.39.242.200/~aghl/Aurora/index.html

The problem is caused by a small amount of grease inside the turn signal lever slowly flowing over time between the electrical contacts inside the turn signal - intermittently shorts-out the headlights or parking light switches causing them to flicker on and off. Cheaper than buying a new Multifunction switch is to open the existing one and just wipe away the excess grease.

What does it mean when dashboard lights and parking light stay on after turning off and removing key from your 1999 olds aurora?

As far as I understand, metal flacks (shavings) fall into grease around the switch and complete the circut. You need to replace the switch or you could try to dis-asemble and clean(dont recomend).....

Why does my 1999 Lincoln Town Car make a clicking sound like the turn signal lamps that is coming from under the dash randomly when the ignition switch is on or the car running?

google "multifunction switch" -- basically, it's a buildup of grease in the housing of your turn signal stalk which activates the circuit and makes that clicking sound even when the signal is off. The fix-it solution is to open the housing and clean the grease off the contacts.

How do you replace the turn signal switch located on a 1996 Oldsmobile Cutlass?

You have to pull the steering wheel...which means you have to disable the air bag, which means you should take it in. However, check all your bulbs first to make sure none are burnt out. Double bulbs in the rear lights need BOTH be working. Also, your turn signal flasher is located under the dash just beside your brake pedal (under the felt cowl, not the hazard flasher by the e-brake). Replace it if need be first. You can pop the little plastic face plate off your steering column by pushing the tab in front of the signal/cruise/wiper stem and get access to clean the turn signal contacts with canned air or a tiny (interdental) brush. This may clear up your problem. It did mine and I really hope to save you grief.

What could cause a clicking noise from the dash of a 2001 Grand Am?

I have a 2001 Pontiac Grand am SE And mine made the same clicking noise from behind the dash as you described. There is a turn signal relay behind the dash and it will click for no reason especially after the turn signals are just turned off. The problem resides from the grease build up in the multifunction switch ( or turn signal switch ) located in the steering column which shorts out between the contacts causing the multifunction switch relay to click repeatedly. To remedy he problem remove two tork screws bottom of steering column. Leave the center one alone. Remove top cover to steering column. Remove center top tork screw to remove turn signal assembly. unplug the 3 wire harnesses. Now clean all the outside contacts with a Q-tip and alcohol removing the grease between all the contact grooves. Reassemble and make sure horn switch is located in the proper position. Just need to push the horn switch in a little (spring loaded ). Total time should be between 20 and 30 minutes. Don't let the dealer tell you that it needs a new multifunction switch @ almost $400.00 with labor. I solved my problem in 20 minutes and it didn't cost a thing!

Water in the floorboard Oldsmobile Aurora?

If it is in the front seat... it is because the drainage plug for the a/c is clogged. I have a 95 aurora.. and it was doing same thing.. turns out the drain plug was blocked so condensation from the a/c vents/coils wasnt draining outside the car but inside onto the floor.. you will have to get under the car.. on the passenger side of the car on the firewall there is a little black rubber elbow coming out. Carefully pry it out.. be prepared though cause the water will gush out...clean out the build up in the rubber elbow and replace..
