Spill prevention control (and containment), including countermeasure plans, should be in place from the very start. For instance, a 'bund' is a low, raised mound or wall surrounding storage tanks. It is designed to capture (contain) any spillage (oil, petrol, toxic liquid chemicals, etc.) from escaping outside the immediate area of the bund. Thus allowing time to use countermeasures to clean up the spillage safely.
people who work with cars would know better, they would probably open up the engine, pull out the petrol tank drain and wipe it clean. But, the most commonly used method of cleaning petrol from a car is by driving it until it eventually runs out of petrol. Cas ussually dont move when they run out of fuel.
Cat litter is good to soak up the spill after it first happens. It will usually get all of it up.
kitty litterthen wash it down with dishwashing detergent
Garage storage cabinets are a great way to clean up that clutter. Lowes Home Improvement stores would be a great place to purchase a garage storage cabinet.
There are many garage floor coatings available these days but only some of them allow for easy clean-up of substances like gas and oil. The best two are a true commercial grade epoxy or urethane.
If I work quick in my garage I can do minor maintenance in 45 minutes including clean up.
