How do you clear automotive codes?

You mean DTC's? (diagnostic trouble codes). You have to have a scan tool to connect to the cars computer via the obd, or obd2. That s one way that the factory feeds the dealership business. You have to take it to a shop to get that cleared. When I used to run the shop for Chevy, the owner there, even though you canset some of the keyless entry fobs with a paper clip, saw those as his bread, and butter, combined with the dtc resets we probably made a half a million a year just on that fluff. He would get mad at us for going over to a friends house and using the paper clip methos because it took money from his pocket. Ya know, here is a better example. Here in Nevada we have legal brothels, but, they are quite a ways out of town. At one time, or another I have worked at all of them. I had a limo business, and figured, what the hell, I am going to start an escort agency here in town, and run hookers under the wire. Well, one of the brothel owners pulled me over, bought my license on the spot, then, put all my old girls to work at his place, and shut my business down right there on the spot, then made me sign a no competitions agreement. I said what the heck was all that about? Why would you buy it to shut it down? He said, ya know, I pay my fee's, have all the proper licenses, and do everything by the letter of the lw. You come in, step on every law you can find, and cut into my action. Not right. Since it was you, I bought it, but, anyone else I would have had them shutdown, one way, or another. Same with the dealerships. And the owner I worked for took very good care of us, first, but then made his demands. I remember a salesman drove his brand new Ford Mustang to work, and parked it in the saleman of the month spot, right next to the owner. It still had placcards on it from the local Ford dealer! Now. I have never actually been present for one of these grand moll seizures, and I do not ever want to see one again! Now this guy made $150,000 per year, so, I'm guessing he was worth a mill, or maybe even a mill and a half to this dealership. This carried no weight, whatsoever. Once we were able to get the owner put back together, he went into a speech to all of us, about how we make our living from GM, and about product pride, and loyalty, ect.
