You decide you are strong enough to deal with it and do it. Think it through, assume it will go badly. Can you support yourself ? Do you have other support ? Friends who will stand by you ? Bottom line, it is your life and you have to do what is right for you. Some religious people can deal with it and others can't. It may be a hard pill to swallow, but parents, friend, co workers, whoever, if it matters to them what your sexual preference is and they turn away, you aren't really losing anything. You have to do what is best and right for you, not worry about what other people think or expect you to behave or be. Your life and it's over all to quickly.
