To connect a wire to an electric bulb you will need a battery, wires with alligator pegs and the bulb, plus plasticine or blue tack. You must stick the plasticine to the end of the battery and then also you must stick the other side of the battery with plasticine (the wires must be under the plasticine). next use the alligator pegs to hold both sides of the bulb. thus your bulb works. You should find this information pretty helpful.

Answer

You wire a lamp holder, and insert the lamp (not 'bulb' -you plant bulbs!) into the lamp holder.

A bulb holder that is specially designed to take which type of bulb you want to use - bayonet fitting being common.

Another Answer

In the electrical business, 'bulbs' are correctly called 'lamps' ('bulbs' are planted!). You don't connect the wires directly to a lamp. Instead, they are terminated in a lamp holder which is designed to hold the lamp. In many countries, such as the USA and Canada, these lamp holders are normally Edison screw types, while in other countries, such as the UK, they are more usually bayonet types.

The line conductor must always be connected to the centre contact, in the case of an Edison screw lamp holder. And it is the line conductor, NEVER the neutral conductor, into which any switch and overcurrent device (fuse or circuit breaker) is inserted.

If you wired up the circuit with a bulb two batteries and a switch with a thin wire what will happen?

the bulb will light up

Using 1 cell 1 bulb and 1 switch draw a circuit to show bulb working only when switch is not closed?

This answer website does not have the ability to draw diagrams. From the positive side of the battery connect it to one side of the switch. From the other side of the switch connect it to the centre terminal of the first bulb's socket and then continue the wire to the centre terminal of the second bulb's socket. From the negative side of the battery, connect a wire to the shell terminal of the first bulb's socket and then continue the wire to the shell terminal of the second bulb's socket. When you turn the switch on the both lamps will glow.

Why does a bulb glow when electric passes through it?

The filament in the bulb has resistance. The current flowing through the resistance of bulb causes the filament to dissipate energy in the form of heat and light. The filament is actually glowing white-hot because of the energy it is dissipating, thus giving off light.

What powers a light bulb?

The energy used by a lightbulb in kWh can be calculated from the voltage across the bulb, the current through the bulb, and the number of hours of operation of the bulb. energy = voltage * current * hours / 1000

How many apples does it take to light a light bulb?

I think that the orange and nails light up the light bulb because the acid energy goes through the nails and into the wires connected to the light bulb and powers the light bulb

How do you use a light bulb as a resistor when charging a capacitor?

connect the light bulb to the positive wire like a inline fuse and then connect the wire to the battery it should just burn out the bulb

How do you make a circuit with a light bulb and battery?

Get your bulb, it should be a very small wattage (weak) one, get your battery and wires, connect one wire to plus side of abttery and other wire to minus side of battery, then connect to the bulb, you may have to play around a bit to find a connection that produces light.

What do you need to have a simple circuit?

Take a battery, a wire and a little light bulb. Put the wire on the flat part of the battery then put the other end of the wire on the side part of the bottom of the light bulb. Put the end of the light bulb on the top of the battery, dont touch the wire to the top when the light bulb is on it because is either shocks you or doesnt work.

How do you connect the parts of a simple electric circuit together so that the light bulb lights up?

Simply connect the -ve of the bulb to -ve of the battery and +ve of bulb to +ve of battery using an electrically conductive wire, the bulb will light automatically.

Will two batteries and a wire make a light bulb light?

first of all, you need a bulb, a wire, and ONE light bulb. You clip the wire on the battery and touch the wire on the bottom of the light bulb

How do you make to make the perfect curcuit?

The things you need for your curcuit are: A light bulb, Bell wire, A Battery and a conducter ex. pin, paper clip Attach the bulb together with the battery using the bell wire. With the two ends of the wire connect to the conducter and see if light bulb comes on.

Testing a power io DAA-6V100 solid state contactor?

Use a small light bulb, such as 25-50 watt. Connect 120 VAC power to the big L1 terminal. Connect the big T1 terminal to the light bulb. Connect the neutral to the light bulb. The light bulb will be OFF. Connect another 120 VAC wire to the control input terminal #3. Connect another neutral to the control input terminal #4. The light bulb will now be ON. How can you learn whether or not a material can conduct electricity?

You need a battery, a light bulb, and three pieces of copper wire, as well as the thing you want to test. Create a circuit by connecting each object to two others with the copper wire. Place one end of a copper wire on the positive side of the battery, the other end on the bottom of the light bulb. With the second wire, connect one end to the side of the metal part of the light bulb (where you see the ridges), and the other end to the object. With the last wire, connect one end to the object and the other end to the negative side of the light bulb. If the light bulb lights up, then the object is conducting electricity. If you have a large light bulb, it won't show as much light, or maybe no light at all, even if you have a conductive material. It is better to use a smaller light bulb for smaller batteries, so you can see the light.

What is the wire that gives off light in a light bulb?

In an incandescent light bulb the wire that gives off the light is called the Filament.

To light up a light bulb we need to connect to a?

To light a light bulb you need to connect to a source of electricity like a battery or an electrical outlet.

How does a wire connect to a bulb?

You take a wire and stick it to the positive end of the batter. Then connect another wire to the negative end of the battery. Connect both wires to the lightbulb.

Explain why a light switch makes a light go on and off?

A light bulb is wired up to have a current run through it to produce light light. when you disconnect the wire to one end of the light bulb there is no longer a current flowing through it and the light go's out. A switch is a device that is able to disconnect or connect the wire. or otherwise put cause a break in the wire so that power will not run through it.
